I  have taught all levels of students and sizes of flutes since 1975 in music store, studio, and small college settings.  I hold a Bachelor of Music Education degree from University of Northern Colorado, with post-graduate study at Portland State University and in many masterclasses.  I have extensive flute choir and performing experience nationally, in the Pacific NW, and Colorado Springs. I enjoy my students and have a big bag of flute tricks to keep them progressing, practicing, and performing wherever they need to be - school, church, homeschool, ensembles, honor bands, college auditions.  I'm assistant director of Pikes Peak Flute Choir, and principal flute with Little London Winds.  You can "like" both groups on facebook!

I started learning the string instruments as my mid-life crisis and teach an excellent foundation in notational reading, repertoire of different types, and having a fun time with the instruments.  I'll start you on the basics and see which type of music you become interested in as you progress.  I have performed and recorded with MandoCentrics and played some with Serendipity Strings. 

Studio Locations, Tuition, Policies

Beautiful Colorado Springs, CO!  My home studio is on the south side of Village Seven, and I also teach at Graner Music on Barnes Road across from Doherty High School.  

Tuition is $22 for a half hour lesson ($32 for 45 minutes, $42 for an hour).  My make-up policy is fairly liberal in the industry, and I try to be as flexible for you as my schedule allows.  Please also realize that this is my income and needs to be somewhat stable!

My studios will have about two recitals per year.  If there is enough interest I will put together an ensemble of "like" instruments for either a regular rehearsal or special occasion.
